Foreclosure Victims may receive payback

Americans who have lost their homes to foreclosure could get a payback.

Next month, the federal government will start sending letters to 4.5 million current and former homeowners to let them know of their right to ask for reviews of their cases.

The reviews will look at whether any mistakes were made in their cases – if errors are found, the homeowners could get restitution.

Customers of Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Citibank who were in foreclosure in 2009 and 2010 are among those who can ask for review.
